End-of-Year Demonstration & Promotion Test 6/7

We are excited about the upcoming end-of-year Demonstration and Promotion Test with our special guest, Headmaster Dr. Michael T. Dealy. The event will start at 5:30pm on Tuesday, June 7 at the Trevor Day School West Gym (1 W 88th Street, Manhattan). All are invited and encouraged to attend and participate.

For our hosts, we ask that all who are going to participate please bring this waiver with them, filled out appropriately. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Modified Schedule today, 5/24

Due to a family emergency we are announcing a modified schedule:

  • The Youth Free Trial Class for 3:30 PM has been cancelled.
  • The Youth Tae Kwon Do Class has been combined with the Junior Tae Kwon Do Class and will be at 5:00pm.
  • All other classes are scheduled as normal.

Memorial Day Weekend Modified Schedule

Due to Memorial Day Weekend we are announcing a modified schedule:

  • The Atlantic Avenue Studio is closed from Saturday, May 28 through Monday, May 30

  • All other classes are scheduled as normal

We'd also like to take a moment to remind everyone of the Year-End Demonstration and Promotion Test. The event will take place at Trevor Day School, 1 West 88th Street, in Manhattan at 5:30pm on Tuesday, June 7. We're hoping to have 100% attendance for our special guest, Headmaster Dr. Michael T. Dealy.

    Tournament 5/7, Demonstration & Test 6/7, Summer Program starts 6/27

    The Tournament and Black Belt Test is this Saturday, May 7 at noon. Doors open at 11:30am, the location is Bay Ridge Prep Lower School Gym, 8101 Ridge Blvd, Brooklyn. There's still time to register online and save $15, even if you pay at the door.

    Due to the event, we are announcing a modified schedule for Saturday, May 7:

    • The Tai Chi class has been moved to 8am
    • The Youth Tae Kwon Do class has been moved to 9am
    • The Open Tae Kwon Do class has been moved to 10am
    • The Black Belt Club class and the Free Trial class have been canceled

    In other upcoming events news, we have our Year-End Demonstration and Promotion Test at Trevor Day School, 1 W88th St, in Manhattan, starting at 5:30pm. The Headmaster, Dr. Michael T. Dealy will be our special guest for the event.

    Finally, if you're still looking for something to do this summer, our Martial Arts Seasonal intensive is still open for full days and half days, starting from June 27. Check out our site for more details and to register.

      Tournament and Black Belt Test 5/7 Register now!

      Here's a friendly reminder about the Tournament and Black Belt Test on Saturday, May 7. It will be at the Bay Ridge Prep Lower School gym at 8101 Ridge Boulevard, Brooklyn NY. The event starts at noon, doors open at 11:30am. The event is open to all ages and belt levels up through 3rd DAN. Register online before the event to save $15 off of your registration, even if you pay at the door! We have several students looking to complete their Black Belt Season that day, come to compete and come to support them.

      And here's another reminder: The Year-End Demonstration and Promotion Test for WMA Karate is coming up on Tuesday, June 7 at Trevor Day School West, 1 W88th St, NY NY at 5:30pm. Mark your calendars and save the date – we're looking for 100% attendance.

      Spring National Tournament Registration Open! Event Sat. 5/7

      We are excited to announce that registration for the Spring National Tournament is now open at http://signupsimply.com/wmaa/event.cfm

      The event is at the Bay Ridge Prep Lower School, 8101 Ridge Boulevard, Bay Ridge, Brooklyn on Saturday, May 7. Doors open at 11:30am, the event is scheduled to start at noon, and run until about 5pm. There will also be a Black Belt Test, featuring students from around the organization, and even a few from our own school!

        Children's Tournament Saturday 3/12 and modified schedule

        There's still time to register for the Children's Tournament this weekend. The event is from noon to 5pm at 8101 Ridge Blvd, Brooklyn and will culminate in a Lower Belt Test and Junior Black Belt Test. All students 16 and under are invited to compete. Register online to save $15!

        Due to the event, we are announcing the following modified schedule:

        • Tai Chi will be at 8am.
        • The Youth Tae Kwon Do Class is at 9am.
        • The Open Tae Kwon Do Class is at 10am.
        • All other Saturday Classes are cancelled, and Sunday's schedule is unchanged

        Children's Tournament – Saturday, March 12

        We are excited to announce that sign-ups are open for the annual WMAA Children's Tournament has opened registration: http://signupsimply.com/wmaa/event.cfm

        The event will be at Bay Ridge Prep Lower School Gymnasium, 8101 Ridge Boulevard, Brooklyn. Doors open at 11:30a, event starts at noon. All students 16 and under are welcome to compete. Following the tournament there will be a Lower Belt Test and a Junior Black Belt Test. The entire event should wrap up around 5pm. Signing up online will save you $15/registration regardless of whether you pay via the site or at the event.

        Tournaments are a great way to meet other practitioners and train and demonstrate under the rigors of competition. We also invite all Black Belts to help officiate and run the tournament – it's a great learning experience for everyone.
