Modified Schedule and Tournament, Saturday 5/6

Due to the WMAA Spring National Tournament we are announcing a modified schedule for Saturday, May 6:

  • The Youth and Open Tae Kwon Do classes will happen concurrently at 11am
  • The Tai Chi class will occur at 10am
  • No other classes are scheduled for Saturday, May 6

Speaking of the WMAA Spring National Tournament, there is still time to register online and save $15, even if you pay at the door. The event is at 8101 Ridge Boulevard in Brooklyn. Doors open at 11:30am and the event starts at noon. Not only is it an excellent opportunity to practice the art under the rigors of competition, but the day will culminate in a Black Belt Test, and it is always good to bear witness to these students' amazing accomplishments.

Spring National Tournament, Saturday May 6

We are excited to announce the Spring National Tournament, open to all ages and belt levels, Third Degree Black Belt and lower. The event will be on Saturday, May 6th, at noon (doors open at 11:30am) at Bay Ridge Prep Lower School Gym, 8101 Ridge Boulevard, Brooklyn. We look forward to seeing you there. The tournament is a great experience to practice the art under the rigors of competition. Don't forget to register online and save $15, even if you pay at the door.

    Traffic Advisory for Saturday, April 29

    Due to a 5K fun run put on by the local precinct, traffic and parking near the studio will be extra challenging. The run will be starting at 10am. Please find the run's route below:

      Classes Cancelled, Thursday 4/20

      Due to a family emergency, the studio will be closed and all classes cancelled on Thursday, April 20. Feel free to schedule any make-up classes as needed. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

      Modified Schedule Saturday 4/15

      On Saturday, 4/15 we are announcing a modified schedule:

      • The Youth Tae Kwon Do class scheduled at 9am will take place at 11am, concurrent with the Open Tae Kwon Do class.
      • All other classes are scheduled as normal

      Spring Break Holiday Modified Schedule

      Due to Spring Break and the holidays we are announcing a modified schedule:

      • The classes scheduled for Tuesday the 11th and Thursday the 13th at 3pm and 4pm have been moved to 5pm.
      • The 5pm class on 4/11 and 4/13 runs as normal.
      • All other classes are scheduled as normal

      Martial Arts Seasonal Intensive & other upcoming events

      If you're still looking for a quality summer day program, leveraging over 50 years of martial arts experience, look no further. There is still space available in our Martial Arts Seasonal Intensive this summer. Practice Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi, Capoeira, Jiu Jitsu, and many more, including weapons training. The program runs from June 26 through July 27, and is available with the full four weeks, weekly, and even daily rates – including half-day rates. Register online by April 15 and be guaranteed a free MASI camp tee shirt!

      Also, we're happy to announce that registration is open for the WMAA's National Spring Tournament and Black Belt Test. The event is at the Bay Ridge Prep Lower School gym, 8101 Ridge Boulevard in Bay Ridge on Saturday, May 6. Doors open at 11:30 am and the event starts at noon. It's a great opportunity to practice the art under the rigors of competition. You can sign up online, and if you do, you will save $15 off of registration, even if you don't pay online.

      Finally, we have scheduled our year-end demonstration and promotion test. It will be on Tuesday, June 6, at 5:30 pm at Trevor Day School's West Gym, 1 West 88th Street in Manhattan with our special guest, Headmaster Dr. Dealy. We are aiming to get 100% attendance at this special event. It's an excellent opportunity to demonstrate for the Headmaster and for the audience.

      President's Day Weekend Modified Schedule

      Due to the holiday we are announcing a modified schedule:

      • Saturday's 9am Youth Class will be held at 11am, concurrent with the 11am Open Class.
      • Saturday's 10am Tai Chi Class is cancelled
      • All of Monday's classes will be cancelled except for Shuai Jiao
      • Normal classes resume on Tuesday, February 21

      Children's Tournament, Saturday March 4

      We are very excited to announce the annual Children's Tournament. This event is open to all belt levels, age 16 and younger. The event will be at the Bay Ridge Prep Lower School, 8101 Ridge Boulevard, Brooklyn on March 4. The doors will open at 11:30am and the event will start at noon. If you register online by March 4, you will save $15, even if you pay at the door.

          Martial Arts Seasonal Intensive Registration Open

          Are you looking for a summer program where your child can experience a variety of martial arts in a supportive environment? That's right, our Martial Arts Seasonal Intensive, summer session is now open for registration! Featuring full- or half-day instruction, four days a week, from June 26 through July 27. Arts covered during the program will include Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi, archery, Kobudo (traditional weapons training), Jiu Jitsu, Capoeira, Parkour, and Judo. Techniques will include jumping, spinning and flying kicks, falling techniques, and board breaking. And we'll even find time to watch a martial arts film or two.
