We are very excited to announce the annual Children's Tournament. This event is open to all belt levels, age 16 and younger. The event will be at the Bay Ridge Prep Lower School, 8101 Ridge Boulevard, Brooklyn on March 4. The doors will open at 11:30am and the event will start at noon. If you register online by March 4, you will save $15, even if you pay at the door.
This is an excellent opportunity to practice the Art under the rigors of competition.

Are you looking for a summer program where your child can experience a variety of martial arts in a supportive environment? That's right, our Martial Arts Seasonal Intensive, summer session is now open for registration! Featuring full- or half-day instruction, four days a week, from June 26 through July 27. Arts covered during the program will include Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi, archery, Kobudo (traditional weapons training), Jiu Jitsu, Capoeira, Parkour, and Judo. Techniques will include jumping, spinning and flying kicks, falling techniques, and board breaking. And we'll even find time to watch a martial arts film or two.

We are excited to announce our Mid-Year Promotion Test and Demonstration. The event will be at the Atlantic Avenue Studio from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday, January 28. Students ages 7 and under are invited to arrive for the 2pm first session, while students ages 8 and up are welcome for the 3:30pm second session. If your family has students in both groups, come to the earlier start. This will help us manage crowds at the Studio. If for any reason you are unable to attend, our make-up test will be about a month later.
Finally, our Saturday classes are all going as normally scheduled.

Speaking of the Fall National Tournament, we have a lot of events this weekend!
On Friday, November 18, we have the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th Degree Tournament at the Bay Ridge Prep Upper School, 7404 4th Avenue in Brooklyn. Doors is at 6:30pm, the event starts at 7pm and is open to spectators.
On Saturday, we have the Fall National Tournament at 8101 Ridge Boulevard in Brooklyn. Doors is at 11:30am and the event starts at noon. There will be forms and sparring competitions and the Lower Belt Test (starting around 2:00 or 2:30). There will also be demonstrations from the upper belts. We encourage all ages and all belt levels to participate. Sign up online and save $15, even if you don't pay online!
On Sunday, we have the Fall Black Belt Test at 8101 Ridge Boulevard in Brooklyn. Doors is at 9:30am and the event starts at 10. In addition to all the usual excitement of Black Belt tests, including forms, sparring, and board breaking, we will be welcoming the WMAA's first 8th Degree Black Belts as part of the ceremonies of the day. Please join us to support the folks taking the test and to bear witness to a historical event in the organization.

We are extremely excited to announce the WMAA's National Fall Tournament. The event is this Saturday, at 8101 Ridge Boulevard in Brooklyn and is open to all students up through 3rd Degree Black Belt. The event starts at noon, doors open at 11:30am, and will feature competitions in forms and sparring. The day will end with a lower belt test, and there'll be some really neat demonstrations as well. If you pre-register online, you will save $15, even if you don't pay online. Tournaments are a great way to practice the art under the rigors of competition. The event is scheduled to be over around 5pm.

All students, family, and friends are invited to our annual Halloween Party on October 30th from 2pm - 6pm at the Atlantic Avenue Studio. It's another chance to wear your costume, watch cartoons and movies, play games, and bring your favorite treat to share.
