Summer Program
Martial Arts Summer Intensive (MASI)
Starting the week of July 11th, and for 3 consecutive weeks, in addition to our regularly scheduled classes, WMA Karate and Mission Martial Arts are pleased to offer the Martial Arts Summer Intensive Program. Utilizing two proximal studio spaces and over 50 combined years of martial arts experience, the Martial Arts Summer Intensive Program will be creating a summer experience like no other. This program is not only great for children interested in trying martial arts for the first time, but a fun way to diversify learning for practicing students.
This program will be offered in half day sessions for children under 8 and full day sessions for children 8 to 13 years old four days per week (Monday thru Thursday) for the weeks starting July 9th, July 16th and July 23rd.
Full day (9-4), ages 8-13: $400 per week, with subsequent weeks, $360. Daily tuition is $120.
Half day (9-12) ages 5-13: $200 per week, with subsequent weeks $180. Daily tuition is $60.
The program features the following activities.
- Tae Kwon Do
- Tai Chi and chinese internal arts
- Stretching
- Board Breaking
- Specialized Technique Training i.e. Jumping, spinning and flying kicks
- Grappling Fundamentals
- Falling/Acrobatics
- Kobudo (traditional weapons training)
- Jiu-Jitsu
Please note that Mondays and Wednesdays will be held at the Mission Martial Arts Academy located at 517 Henry Street between Sackett and Union streets. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be at WMA Karate, 67 Atlantic Avenue between Hicks Street and the Palmetto playground. For those that wish, aftercare will be provided until 6 PM for only an additional daily rate of $20. All attendees will be presented with a detailed schedule of the week’s activities and drop off/pick up locations. Parents will also be informed of any field trips children may be taking that week. Attendees will be required to bring their own packed lunch and snacks.
